About Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of Muscle and Skeletal conditions and to help promote overall good health. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues, as well as the nervous and circulatory system, functioning smoothly together.

Our Osteopaths in Carshalton Beeches work to restore your body to a state of balance, using an individualised treatment plan for you. Techniques can include, physical manipulation, stretching and massage with the aim being to reduce pain, increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms.

Osteopaths work by treating the cause of the complaint, rather than just the symptoms. We will generally also provide advice on posture and prescribe exercises to aid recovery, promote health and to prevent symptoms recurring.

All Osteopaths that practice in the UK have to be registered with the General Osteopathic Council a statutory regulated body that ensure high standards of professionalism, are appropriately qualified (a 4-5 year full time degree), undertake a minimum amount of CPD and are insured to practice. Osteopaths are primary health care practitioners and the term Osteopath is a protected Title.

About our Clinic

ARC Osteopathy in Carshalton Beeches was set up in 2016 to serve the local community in which the Principal Osteopath lives. Over this time, we have been successfully treating a wide range of people who have presented to us with a variety of complaints and symptoms. We continue to treat our patients with the utmost respect, professionalism and empathy.

We will ensure that you receive a treatment protocol tailored to you, using a varied range of treatments and correct rehabilitation, all agreed with you, so that you can get on and enjoy life to the full.

About the Team

Alan is the Principal Osteopath as ARC Osteopathy.

He has been treating a wide range of people for over 8 years with Osteopathy (and over 16 years with sports and remedial massage) for a variety of complaints.

Alan is trained in and uses a range of styles (including structural Osteopathy, classical Osteopathy and cranial Osteopathy) and techniques to compliment the patient. In addition to this he is also trained in adjunct therapies including Western Medical Acupuncture, Ultrasound, Taping and Strapping, Fascial Taping and exercise prescription for an ongoing rehabilitative program.
He is registered with all the major insurance companies. Although you don’t need insurance to visit us. As a primary healthcare practitioner, you can book directly with us, without a GP referral.

Alan is proud to have a great team of well qualified and fully insured, registered Osteopaths working at the clinic.

While they have been selected for their slightly differing skills and backgrounds, you can be assured they will demonstrate the same level of integrity and professionalism, which only makes for a much stronger team of Osteopathic professionals.
