Our hygienists are recognised as being crucial to the successful prevention and treatment of gum disease and play and important role in your oral healthcare routine.
Our hygienists give your teeth a professional deep clean including cleaning between them and below the gum line. This removes plaque, a constantly forming thin and sticky layer of bacteria which can irritate the gums and cause gum disease.
Gum disease is the most common disease in the human body. The initial symptoms include bad breath and sore, swollen or bleeding gums. With treatment it can be controlled, but if left untreated it can eventually lead to tooth loss. Also, recent research has shown that uncontrolled gum disease is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, strokes, uncontrolled diabetes and other illnesses.
